VET in Schools (VETiS)

Qualifications & Funding

Qualifications offered to School Based Students include:

• Certificate I in Construction – available fee free through VETiS funding for eligible QLD school students or “Fee For Service” can be negotiated.
• Certificate II in Engineering Pathways – available fee free through VETiS funding for eligible QLD school students or “Fee For Service” can be negotiated.
• Certificate II in Sport & Recreation – available fee free through VETiS funding for eligible QLD school students or “Fee For Service” can be negotiated.
• Certificate III in Business – available as a school based traineeship (SAT) for eligible QLD school students or Fee For Service to students anywhere in Australia.
• Certificate III in Outside School Hours Care – available as a school based traineeship (SAT) for eligible QLD school students or Fee For Service to students anywhere in Australia.
• Certificate III in Carpentry – available as a school based apprenticeship (SAT) for eligible QLD school students
• Certificate III in School Based Education Support – available as Fee For Service to students anywhere in Australia.
• Certificate IV in School Based Education Support – available as Fee For Service to students anywhere in Australia.
• Diploma of Business – available as Fee For Service to students anywhere in Australia.
• General Construction Induction (White Card) – available as Fee For Service for QLD school students
• First Aid/CPR  – available as Fee For Service for QLD school students.
• Short course: First aid and WHS (may attract 2 QCE points). Available as Fee For Service for QLD school students.

School Delivery Models

We can work with schools in different capacities:

1. RTO Delivery: We will be responsible for the delivery and assessment of all course components with no administrative or teaching burdens placed on school staff. This may include:
   • Self-Paced Online delivery: students complete the course independent from their school studies. This may be done in their own time or in spares or built into the student’s timetable with a dedicated line on their timetable or selected incursion days.
   • On-site delivery: Our trainers will attend the school with all equipment and materials required to run the course. Schedules and timeframes will be negotiated with the school – for example 1 day per week or as suited for the curriculum timetable.
2. Partnering/auspice arrangement: The school can utilise its own teaching staff to deliver our qualifications:
   • We provide our quality course resources and assessments.
   • We host the program in our highly acclaimed eLearning system.
   • We provide ongoing training and support for the school’s nominated Trainer (who must be appropriately qualified and hold a TAE qualification).
   • We manage the enrolment process, compliance, reporting and certificate issue.
3. Shared Delivery: The school and RTO share delivery and assessment responsibilities. For example, Adapt Education may deliver key sessions on campus and be responsible for all assessment marking to reduce the burden on school staff however an approved “in-house” teacher may be responsible for day-to-day delivery and support.

Certificate III School Based Traineeships

Certificate III in Business, Certificate III in Outside School Hours Care and Certificate III in Carpentry  currently available for School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SATs) for QLD school students. Adapt Education will work with the school, the employer and the student to ensure successful completion of:

• Theory components through self-paced online learning
• Practical components completed through Work Placement, 1 day per week

VETiS Funding

As an approved Skills Assure provider with the QLD Government, the following programs can be offered through the VET in Schools (VETiS) funding program:

Certificate I in Construction

Certificate II in Engineering Pathways

Certificate II in Sport and Recreation

VETiS Funding

• The cost of VETiS funded qualifications are fee free for students.
• VETiS qualifications can be undertaken in years 10, 11 and 12, and can count towards the Queensland Certificate of Education and ATAR rankings.
• Students can access one funded qualification while at school.
• Accessing VETiS funding will not affect a student’s eligibility for future funded programs once they leave school.
• Accessing VETiS funding will not affect a student’s eligibility to enrol in a School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SAT).
• Students who have already accessed VETiS funding will be subject to fees. Fees may be negotiated prior to enrolling.
• Delivery modes and timeframes are negotiable and can align with SAS or other school programs.
