IMPORTANT UPDATE

The Queensland Government is currently transitioning to a new suite of funded programs.

– Certificate 3 Guarantee will become Career Start (from 31 August 2025)

– Higher Level Skills will become Career Boost (from 31 August 2025)

– VETiS will become Career Ready (from 1 January 2026)

QLD Participants

Adapt Education has been approved for the Career Start and Career Boost funding programs, set to commence from 1st July 2025. To be eligible you must:

  • Be aged 15 years or older
  • Not be a school student
  • Live in Queensland
  • Be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen.
  • Not already have completed a qualification equal to or higher than the one you are enrolling into within the last 10 years (qualifications completed as a school student do not count; qualifications completed abroad are assessed on a case-by-case basis).
  • Not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred (enrolment in individual units of competence or non-accredited courses does not count).

If you meet the criteria above you should qualify for funding. Eligible courses include:

  • CHC30221 Certificate III in School Based Education Support
  • CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support
  • BSB30120 Certificate III in Business
  • 10983NAT Certificate III in Outside School Hours Care
  • CHC50221 Diploma of School age education and care

QLD School Students

VETiS funding is available until 30 December 2025. Enrolments for Semester 2, 2025 are currently being accepted. Note: Enrolments for 2026 VETiS funding will be accepted once Adapt Education has received confirmation of approval for the new Career Ready VETiS funding program (expected in September 2025).

To be eligible for VETiS funding a student must:

  • Be enrolled in Yr 10, 11, or 12 at a QLD school
  • Not have completed another qualification through VETiS funding. This does not include:
    • Qualifications that are Certificate III or higher
    • Qualifications delivered by the school
    • Qualifications that are not on the Priority Skills List as VETiS approved
  • Be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen.

If you meet the criteria above you should qualify for VETiS funding. Courses approved for VETiS funding include:

  • Certificate I in Construction
  • Certificate II in Engineering pathways
  • Certificate II in Sport and recreation
  • Certificate II in Sport Coaching

GOVERNMENT FUNDING FURTHER DETAILS

Many of the qualifications offered by Adapt Education are Centrelink approved and you may be eligible to receive ongoing study support benefits while you study from home. If you are on a single parent pension, a carers pension, disability pension, NewStart and several others, you may be eligible for the Education Supplement ($62 p/fortnight for full time study for the nominated duration of the course) and/or the Education Entry Payment ($208 one off payment). To find out if you’re eligible for Centrelink payments check their webite or call 13 24 90 and ask about the above payments. For eligible participants to claim the education supplement, simply take a signed copy of your training plan (issued upon enrolment) into centrelink and attach it to the relevant centrelink form.

About Apprenticeships and Traineeships

  • Apprenticeships and Traineeships combine paid work with structured training.
  • You may be a full-time or part-time employee, a new or existing employee (note: for school based apprenticeships and traineeships refer to the VETiS Schools Funding section).
  • Apprenticeships and traineeships require employers to enter into a training contract with the apprentice or trainee, which is a legally binding agreement to work and train together for a length of time.

Adapt Education can accept traineeship enrolments from anywhere in Australia for:

  • Certificate III in Business
  • 10983NAT Certificate III in Outside School Hours Care

User Choice Apprenticeships and Traineeships in QLD

We are approved to deliver User Choice funded training to eligible QLD based Apprentices and Trainees in:

  • Certificate III in Business
  • Certificate III in Carpentry
  • 10983NAT Certificate III in Outside School Hours Care

Additional Information for User Choice apprenticeships and traineeships

  • To be eligible to receive government contributions, the apprentice or trainee must have entered into a qualification that is funded and select a training provider that holds Pre Qualified Supplier (PQS) status.
  • Apprentices or Trainees will pay a set contribution fee towards their training. This rate is set at $1.60 per nominal hour. The employer may choose to pay these on the participant’s behalf. Concessional rates and some exemptions may apply. Under the Queensland Government’s Free apprenticeships for under 21s initiative, young apprentices and trainees under the age of 21 who select the Certificate III in Carpentry (a priority qualification) will not pay the contribution fee.

  • QLD Employers: Payments of up to $20,000 are available when you employ eligible job seekers in regional QLD and some SE QLD locations.

Incentives for Apprentices and Trainees

  • Australian Apprenticeship Incentive System: A direct payment to apprentices in priority occupations (Certificate III in Carpentry), of up to $1,250 paid every six months for a maximum of two years, up to a total value of $5,000, to help apprentices with cost-of-living pressures and to assist them to stay in their apprenticeship.   • Trade Support Loans to the value of $22,890 (includes 20% discount on amount borrowed for successful apprenticeship completion).

Adapt Education is a Skills Assure supplier, approved and funded by the QLD Government to deliver the following:

  • Certificate III in Business
  • Certificate III in School Based Education Support (teacher aide)
  • Certificate III in Outside School Hours Care (OSHC educators)

The course is heavily subsidised, however a small co-contribution fee is applicable. Concession card holders (health care card or pension concession card) and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander persons will have a discounted co-contribution fee.   • Be aged 15 years or older
  • Not be a school student
  • Permanently reside in Queensland

  • Not already have a certificate III or higher qualification (including tertiary qualification) completed within the last 10 years (qualifications completed as a school student do not count).
  • Not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred, whether funded by DTET or not (foundation skills qualifications do not count).

Some important points about Career Start:

  • Students are only eligible for one subsidised training place.

Adapt Education is a Skills Assure supplier, approved and funded by the QLD Government to deliver the Certificate IV in School Based Education Support under the Career Boost subsidy. To be eligible you must:

  • Be aged 15 years or older
  • Not be a school student
  • Permanently reside in Queensland
  • Be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen.
  • Not already have a certificate IV or higher qualification (including tertiary qualification) completed within the last 10 years (qualifications completed as a school student do not count).
  • Not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred, whether funded by DTET or not (foundation skills qualifications do not count).

Adapt Education is a Skills Assure supplier, approved as a funded provider of training. Qualifications available to school students in QLD include:

VETiS Funding
  • Enrolments under the Certificate 3 Guarantee – VETiS program for Semester 2 2025 are currently being accepted. Enrolments for 2026 VETiS will be accepted when the Career Ready funding has been confirmed (expected in September 2025). Fee For Service enrolments can continue to be submitted at any time.
  • VETiS qualifications can be undertaken in years 10, 11 and 12, and can count towards the Queensland Certificate of Education and ATAR rankings.
  • Students can access one funded qualification while at school.
  • Accessing VETiS funding will not affect a student’s eligibility for future funded programs once they leave school.
  • The cost of VETiS funded qualifications are fee free for students. Students who have already accessed VETiS funding will be advised of any applicable fees prior to enrolling.
  • Delivery modes and timeframes are negotiable and can align with SAS or other school programs.
School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeships (SATs)
  • Combine paid work, training and school
  • As well as an industry recognised national qualification you will gain credit towards your Queensland Certificate of Education.
  • A Certificate III qualification will ensure an ATAR ranking of 68; A Certificate IV will ensure a minimum ATAR rank of 74.
  • To qualify you must be employed in an apprenticeship/traineeship role and be signed into a training contract for a qualification funded by the QLD government.
