VET in Schools
We offer flexible training programs designed and taught by teachers specifically for schools targeting a diverse range of students with an interest in the Construction Industry. We pride ourselves on quality training that aligns with school outcomes and good pedagogy.
Course details:
- Duration: 20 days – (1 day per week for 2 Terms or to suit school – see delivery options below for more details)
- Cost: Free for students who have not accessed VETiS funding or ‘Fee for Service’ can be negotiated dependant on enrolment numbers.
- Where: All training programs are conducted on school grounds during normal school hours. Note: no external work placement is required.
- Equipment: All student resources, tools, building materials and student personal protective equipment is provided.
- Future Pathways: Exclusive partnerships with industry providing work experience which can lead to employment opportunities.
Delivery Options
RTO DELIVERY
All enrolment paperwork, training and assessment is conducted by Adapt with no administrative or teaching burdens placed on school staff. The course is generally delivered 1 day per week over 1 semester. other options include: delivery over 12 months, delivery over exam block, etc.
PARTNERED DELIVERY
Schools wanting to deliver the qualification to a large fee for service cohort or wanting to run the program on a dedicated line on their timetable may find it more suitable deliver the program through a partnering arrangement. This involves the school delivering Adapt’s quality program and utilising our online system with an approved “in-house” teacher. Ongoing administrative support and professional development of the nominated trainer is inclusive in this option.

Course Structure
- Classroom based delivery: Complete a series of theory and practical modules with our interactive trainer led classes. Duration can vary depending on the location and cohort but may include:
- 1 day per week for 20 weeks – theory and practical at designated training venue. Additional self-paced learning may be required.
- 2 days per week for 10 weeks – theory and practical training at designated training venue. Additional self-paced learning may be required.
- Blended study: Complete theory modules self-paced online. Complete practical modules in class.
Practical Placement
You may be placed with a local construction employer to gain on the job experience. Please discuss with an Adapt Education staff member if a placement will be a part of your program prior to enrolling.
Government Funding
- This course is an approved lower level qualification through the Queensland Government’s Certificate 3 Guarantee subsidy. View our Government funding page for the eligibility criteria of this funding.
- This qualification is Centrelink approved, meaning eligible participants may be able to receive Austudy, Abstudy, the Education Supplement, Newstart, Youth Allowance, or the Disability Supplement.

Costs
If you are registered with a job active or other employment service provider, the student contribution fee listed below may be paid on your behalf. Please discuss with your provider if this applies to you.
- $50 ($4.54/unit) for concessional card holders who qualify for the Certificate 3 Guarantee subsidy
- $100 ($9.09/unit) for non concessional students who qualify for the Certificate 3 Guarantee subsidy
- $2500 for a standard fee paying student.

For some cohorts Training and assessment for this course are provided by our trusted Business branches, partners or sub-contractors:
- Tony Beed (HRW Training) provides training and assessment for this course. Students are enrolling with Adapt Education (RTO 32452). Adapt Education are responsible for marketing, quality assurance, compliance and issuing your certificate.
- My Industry Training provides training and assessment for this course. My Industry Training is a business branch of Adapt Education Pty Ltd. Students are enrolling with Adapt Education (RTO 32452) trading as My Industry Training.
