The Certificate IV in Business Administration is suitable for those with existing administrative skills and a general knowledge of administrative systems and processes. This qualification focuses on developing solutions for more complex administration tasks within a business.  There is an emphasis on providing leadership, developing others, coordinating some activities and supervising the work of others.

Course Details
  • Training mode: self paced online delivery.
  • If you are already working in an administration role, a practical placement will generally not be required. In instances where a student is not currently in a relevant job role, a practical placement of 200hrs should be arranged.
  • This qualification is approved for Commonwealth Incentive traineeship funding for eligible candidates. Refer to the Government funding page on this website to find out more.
  • You should consider undertaking study in this qualification if you are looking to obtain recognition of your current skills or aspiring to work in a role such as: administration manager, administration coordinator, Executive Personal Assistant, Accounts supervisor, etc.

In most instances you will have up to 2 years to complete this qualification. Being self-paced study you can enrol at any time and progress at any speed you like without the stress of due dates and rigid class time tables. Study duration depends on the hours you put in and your skill level. As a guide, someone dedicating 8 hours per week to study, could expect to complete the assessment component of the course in 6 – 8 months.

Note: students receiving government funding may be obligated to complete the program in a shorter time frame:

  • Centrelink approved: Full time 25 weeks, part time 42 weeks.
  • Traineeship: Full time up to 24 months, part time up to 48 months

Payment plans are offered at no additional cost! That’s right, you DO NOT pay more if you opt for a payment plan. All Fees can be incorporated into a payment plan. You nominate the payment periods (i.e. weekly, fortnightly or monthly). You nominate the amount you are comfortable paying (i.e. $50, $100, $200, etc.). The terms of each payment plan are nominated by you, then approved by us. All payment terms and conditions are agreed to in a direct debit agreement and are in line with National Vocational standards.

Upfront Payments can be made by credit card, bank transfer, cheque, money order or cash. Payment plans are processed with a direct debit system.


  • It is an expectation that you will have access to a computer and the internet to complete the assessment requirements of the course. Please discuss with Adapt if this is an issue as strategies can be put in place to assist.
  • It is expected that students have well developed Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills. Students who do not meet the minimum LLN requirements for this course will be provided a range of options and strategies to assist.
