Qualification Terms and Conditions

Thank you for considering us in the important task of gaining a Nationally Recognised qualification. Prior to enrolling please read the terms and conditions below and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Terms and Conditions

This policy statement meets the RTO standards and is applicable to students enrolling in a nationally recognised qualification. For full policy details please refer to the student handbook.

 

Information and Privacy

An electronic copy of the student record book and certificate/Statement of Attainment will be kept for 30 years. Adapt is required to retain student assessments for audit purposes and cannot return them.Under the Data Provision Requirements 2012, Adapt Education is required to collect personal information about you and to disclose that personal information to third parties. Personal information (including personal information contained in your enrolment form and your training activity data) may be used or disclosed by Adapt Education for reporting, statistical, regulatory and research purposes. Adapt Education may disclose your personal information for these purposes to third parties, including:

  • School – if you are a secondary student undertaking VET, including a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship;
  • Employer – if you are enrolled in training paid by your employer;
  • Host employer – if you are involved in a practical placement;
  • Commonwealth and State or Territory government departments and authorised agencies;
  • NCVER, Researchers or Organisations conducting student surveys
  • Parents/Guardians – where they are a party nominated on the Training Plan
  • Job Networks, Disability Service Providers, Apprenticeship Centres or other agencies involved in the monitoring of your training
  • Centrelink – if you are receiving study benefits

Personal information disclosed to NCVER may be used or disclosed for the following purposes:

  • populating Authenticated VET Transcripts;
  • facilitating statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage;
  • understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information; and
  • administering VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation.

You may receive an NCVER student survey which may be administered by an NCVER employee, agent or third party contractor. You may opt out of the survey at the time of being contacted. NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the VET Data Policy and all NCVER policies and protocols (including those published on NCVER’s website at www.ncver.edu.au).

Unique Student Identifier

The government now requires that all students completing a Nationally Recognised qualification obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This number will enable you to track all of your training over your lifetime through one central account. If a USI is not provided to Adapt Education your certificate cannot be issued. By accepting the terms and conditions of this enrolment, you give permission for Adapt Education to create a USI on your behalf if one is not provided.

Enrolment & Induction

Prior to submitting an enrolment application, a student must read:

On receipt of an enrolment application, Adapt Education will assess the application on the basis of eligibility and suitability of the course/units to the applicant’s needs. Adapt Education reserves the right to reject an enrolment application. Students may be requested to participate in a pre-enrolment interview to facilitate the assessment and acceptance of their enrolment application.

On acceptance, students will receive a confirmation of enrolment email. All students will receive a course induction.

Payments

All course fees will be detailed in an enrolment contract. The enrolment contract must be signed and returned to Adapt Education prior to course commencement. Students who do not make payments by their due date may be deemed unfinancial. Where a student wants to complete a qualification but cannot do so by the contract end date, an extension fee of $500 per semester may apply; For all clients deemed financially current, Adapt guarantees that it will provide the training and assessment agreed to in the contract. Assessment

On commencement you will be issued a Training Plan. The Training Plan lists all course units and due dates if applicable.  All assessments must be submitted and deemed satisfactory for the successfull completion of your course. Please read the assessment policy and mandatory progress policy in the student handbook for more information.

Government Funding

Students receiving funding under the Certificate 3 Guarantee or Higher Level Skills Program or VET in Schools (VETiS) acknowledge that they:

  • Are only eligible for one subsidised training place.
  • Must complete a training and employment survey on completion or discontinuation of their course.

Discipline

Adapt may apply disciplinary action in the event that a student engages in any activity that is deemed to be: immoral, malicious, dishonourable, illegal, disruptive to the training environment or in breach of the student code of conduct or any other Adapt Policy. Where the misconduct falls within the scope of the laws of the state or Commonwealth, those laws shall be followed in regard to reporting the alleged offence/s. Possible disciplinary action may include but is not limited to: A reprimand or caution; Entering into a behaviour agreement; Payment for cost of damages; Cancellation of enrolment.

Complaints and Appeals

Adapt provides all students with a democratic system to lodge and resolve any complaints or appeals. In the first instance a complaint should be discussed with a trainer or another member of staff. Adapt staff members will attempt to resolve the complaint or refer the complaint to the Director. If not satisfied with the outcome of the informal resolution process, a complaint may be put into writing to the attention of the Director. If you are not satisfied with the way Adapt has handled your complaint, you may lodge a complaint with a relevant external agency. Cancellations and Refunds

Enrolments may be cancelled at any time by Adapt Education or the student. Students cancelling must submit a cancellation request in writing. Where the student has not commenced a qualification, a full refund will be provided. The student will be required to return all training materials provided at their expense. Where a student has commenced training, Adapt Education’s refund policy will be applied. Note: Refund rules differ for standard fee paying students, funded students, trainees and apprentices.
