Certificate II in Sport Coaching

Flexible training programs designed and taught by teachers specifically for schools targeting a diverse range of students with an interest in the Sport Coaching Industry.  We pride ourselves on quality training that aligns with school outcomes and student needs.

Course details:

  • Who: School-Based Students in Yr10, 11 or 12 with an interest in sports coaching
  • Duration: 1 day per week over 2 terms or structured to suit curriculum timetable.
  • Cost: Free for students who have not accessed VETiS funding or ‘Fee for Service’ can be negotiated dependant on enrolment numbers.
  • Where: All training programs are conducted on school grounds during normal school hours.
  • Equipment: All resources and equipment required to complete the course are provided.
  • Practical Placement: Students will be observed running at least three sports coaching sessions. Students must achieve 10hrs in a coaching role (may be for a club or school sports team).
  • Future Pathways: Work or volunteer in assistant coaching roles at schools or community based sports clubs.

  • Nationally Recognised Certificate II in Sport Coaching (SIS20321)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • 4 QCE points
  • Access a pathway to work in assistant coaching roles working or volunteering at community based sports clubs and organisations in the Australian sport industry. 

Delivery Options

RTO DELIVERY:

  • RTO Delivery — All delivery, assessment and paperwork done by us with no requirements or impact on school teaching staff. This may be:
     – Self –Paced Online: fully independent from school studies or Built into the students timetable, with a dedicated line on their timetable or selected incursion days to complete the course.
     – Onsite: Delivered by our trainers on school campus.

PARTNERED DELIVERY: Partnering opportunities are available for schools who would like to run our program delivered by their own teaching staff.

SHARED DELIVERY: Negotiate a combination of the above options with the school and RTO sharing delivery and assessment responsibilities.

Course Requirements

  • If you are already working in a role that involves sport and recreation, a practical placement will generally not be required. In instances where a student is not currently in a relevant job role, a practical placement of 100hrs should be arranged. Adapt Education can arrange your placement for you or you can arrange your own.
  • In most instances you will have up to 12 months to complete this qualification. Being self-paced study you can enrol at any time and progress at any speed you like without the stress of due dates and rigid class time tables.
  • Students receiving government funding may be obligated to complete the program in a shorter time frame. These timeframes will be discussed and agreed to in your Training Plan prior to course commencement.

Payment plans are offered at no additional cost! That’s right, you DO NOT pay more if you opt for a payment plan. All Fees can be incorporated into a payment plan. You nominate the payment periods (i.e. weekly, fortnightly or monthly). You nominate the amount you are comfortable paying (i.e. $50, $100, $200, etc.). The terms of each payment plan are nominated by you, then approved by us. All payment terms and conditions are agreed to in a direct debit agreement and are in line with National Vocational standards.

Upfront Payments can be made by credit card, bank transfer, cheque, money order or cash. Payment plans are processed with a direct debit system.

First Aid

The unit HLTAID011 Provide first aid is a core unit of this course and must be completed.  You may book into an Adapt Education first aid course or you can complete it with any provider in Australia. Simply present your certificate to us on completion and we will credit the unit towards your course.

Some important points to consider when booking your  first aid course:

  • The cost of the first aid unit is not included in Adapt Education’s course fee. You will need to pay the listed course fee to your selected first aid training provider.
  • Ensure the you are booking into a first aid course that includes the nationally recognised unit HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
