CPR Refresher Course

Overview

As per the First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice and the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, it is recommended that CPR skills are renewed every 12 months & first aid every 3 years. This course is for those who have completed CPR training within the last 12 months and require “refresher” training to maintain their currency.

Course Delivery

The theory component of this course is delivered through our online student portal. Students are required to complete the learning material and the theory assessment prior to attending a half day workshop, where they will complete the practical component of this course.

Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the following units of competency.

  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Entry Requirements for CPR Refresher Course

  • You must have completed HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (or its predecessor HLTAID001) within the last 12 months. If you have not completed this module please refer to our first aid and CPR course outline.
  • It is an expectation that you will have access to a computer/tablet/phone and the internet. Please discuss with Adapt if this is an issue as strategies can be put in place to assist.
  • It is expected that students have well developed Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills. Students who do not meet the minimum LLN requirements for this course will be provided a range of options and strategies to assist.
  • Participants must have the physical ability to provide resuscitation. This involves kneeling on the floor, performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 (two) minutes.
