Short Course Terms and Conditions

Please note: Adapt Education offers Nationally Recognised qualifications and non-accredited short courses. These terms and conditions relate to our non accredited short courses. For students enroling in a Nationally Recognised qualification or units of competence, please refer to the Adapt Education Student Handbook instead.

 Terms and Conditions

This policy statement meets all applicable laws and applies to students enrolling in an Adapt Education non accredited short course.

Access and Equity

All short courses are offered via an elearning student portal. Students enrolling should ensure that they have access to a reliable internet connection to access this course. Adapt will ensure that all students have access to the same training, assessment and support services. Students will have access to timely and accurate records of participation upon request.

Flexible Learning and Student Support

Adapt will provide flexible training and assessment where appropriate. Students can access unlimited trainer support via phone, email and messaging whilst their enrolment is current by request. Adapt does not provide financial assistance or counselling but can provide referrals if requested. All staff maintain the required qualifications, experience and knowledge for their job roles.

Information and Privacy

Adapt will gather, store, maintain and disseminate information in compliance with legislative requirements. Information provided to Adapt will only be used for the following purposes: processing student applications; determining eligibility with funding/incentive requirements; issuing certificates; reporting or auditing obligations required by State or Commonwealth authorities. Students must advise Adapt as soon as possible if any of their enrolment, personal details or other circumstances change. No employee of Adapt is permitted to provide or show student details or assessment to any person or entity external to the company unless they have a legal obligation to do so.

Enrolment

Please contact an Adapt Education staff member if you would like further information or have questions about a course. Prior to enrolling students should ensure that they have read the course descriptor on the website to ensure that it is the right course for them. To commence the enrolment process Adapt must receive a completed enrolment form. Upon receipt of your enrolment, an Adapt enrolment officer will review your application and forward a confirmation of enrolment email (or contact you if there are any queries regarding your enrolment). Adapt reserves the right to reject an enrolment application.

Payments

Payment terms include: A training place is not guaranteed until a confirmation of enrolment email has been forwarded; payments must be made at the time of enrolment or by the due date indicated on the invoice; the student portal will not be activated until payment has been received. Course prices are listed in the fee schedule. Prices quoted include all student support, course fees, administration fees, and compulsory course materials. Prices quoted do not include: onsite workshops/classes, site visits, tutoring, stationary and other consumables such as CD’s, notebooks, printing paper, etc.

Assessment

Successful completion of a short course may include assessment methods such as: multi choice questions, activities, short answer questions, case studies, or short projects. Where government funding applies assessments may need to be submitted by an agreed due date. Assessments will be marked and feedback provided within 10 days. Where an assessment is deemed not satisfactory students will be given the opportunity to resubmit up to 3 times. Where resubmits are applicable Adapt will provide ongoing support and feedback to ensure that the student has the best chance of successfully completing the course.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT)

RPL is not applicable to our range of short courses.

Discipline

Adapt may apply disciplinary action in the event that a student engages in any activity that is deemed to be: immoral, malicious, dishonourable, illegal, disruptive to the training environment or in breach of the student code of conduct or any other Adapt Policy. Where the misconduct falls within the scope of the laws of the state or Commonwealth, those laws shall be followed in regard to reporting the alleged offence/s. Possible disciplinary action may include but is not limited to: A reprimand or caution; Entering into a behaviour agreement; Payment for cost of damages; Cancellation of enrolment.

Complaints and Appeals

Adapt provides all students with a democratic system to lodge and resolve any complaints or appeals. In the first instance a complaint should be discussed with a trainer or another member of staff. Adapt staff members will attempt to resolve the complaint or refer the complaint to the Director. If not satisfied with the outcome of the informal resolution process, a complaint may be put into writing to the attention of the Director. If you are not satisfied with the way Adapt has handled your complaint, you may lodge a complaint with a relevant external agency. Contact details for external agencies can be provided on request

Cancelations and Refunds

Enrolment in a short course may be cancelled at any time by submitting an email requesting cancellation. Refunds will not be provided. Requests to transfer an enrolment to another course or participant will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and if approved will attract a $50 administration fee.

Completion

On successful completion of the assessment requirements of the course you will be advised by email. A Certificate of Completion will be forwarded to your nominated address within 48 hours by email. Please ensure that your personal details are up-to-date and that you advise us of any changes. A certificate reissue fee of $30 applies if you require a certificate to be reissued.
