Government Funding

The financial cost of Adapt Education’s courses may be fully or partially offset by the many government incentives and subsidies that are available.

Adapt’s course outlines indicate whether a course is eligible for incentives.  All enrolments in subsidised courses are subject to Adapt Education’s student policies available in our student handbook. Below is a summary of some of the available incentives.

The Certificate 3 Guarantee (QLD)

Adapt Education is funded by the QLD Government to deliver the following:

  • Certificate III in Business Administration
  • Certificate III in Education Support (teacher aide)

The course is heavily subsidised, however a small student contribution fee is applicable. Concession card holders (health care card or pension concession card) and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander persons will have a discounted student contribution fee. Student contribution fees can be incorporated into an interest free payment plan. For details on course fees view table 2 on our fee schedule

To be eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee, a student must:

  • Be a Queensland resident over the age of 15
  • Be an Australian citizen or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency.
  • Have finished secondary school or left school
  • Not hold or be currently undertaking a certificate level III or higher qualification. This does not include qualifications completed while at secondary school or abroad.

Some important points about the Certificate 3 Guarantee:

  • Students are only eligible for one subsidised training place

Higher Level Skills Subsidy (QLD)

Our Certificate IV in Education Support is funded by the QLD Government under the Higher Level Skills subsidy. To be eligible you must:

  • Be a Queensland resident over the age of 15
  • Be an Australian citizen or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency.
  • Have finished secondary school or left school
  • Not hold or be currently undertaking a certificate level IV or higher qualification. This does not include qualifications completed while at secondary school or abroad.

Course fees under this program are heavily subsidised however a small student contribution fee is applicable. Student contribution fees can be incorporated into an interest free payment plan. For details on course fees view table 3 on our fee schedule.

Fee Free Training for Year 12 Graduates (QLD)

The Certificate III in Education Support can be fully funded for people who have recently completed year 12. To be eligible to access fee-free training, individuals must:

  • Have completed Year 12 in Queensland and hold a Senior Statement issued by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority or equivalent certification
  • Commence by the end of the calendar year following completion of Year 12
  • Permanently reside in Queensland

Back To Work (QLD)

Certificate 3 Guarantee Boost

The Certificate 3 Guarantee Boost provides eligible jobseekers with funding for training to help secure local jobs. Training may include ‘second chance’ training for jobseekers or workers who already have a Certificate 3 (or higher) level qualification but need new or updated skills to gain, change or retain employment. Contact us for information on how to apply for this program. Adapt Education can offer the following qualifications under this program:

Employer Support

Support payments are available to eligible employers who hire eligible jobseekers.

  • Up to $15,000 for employers who hire an eligible unemployed jobseeker
  • Up to $20,000 for employers who hire an eligible young unemployed jobseeker, aged between 15 – 24 years.
  • Up to $20,000 for employers who hire an eligible unemployed Mature Aged Workers

Schools Funding (QLD)

Adapt Education provides the following qualifications to School Based students:

  • Certificate I in Construction – available fee free through VETiS funding for eligible QLD school students
  • Certificate II in Sport and Recreation – available fee free through VETiS funding for eligible QLD school students
  • Certificate III in Business Administration – available fee free as a school based traineeship (SAT) or Fee For Service
  • Certificate III in Education Support – Fee For Service

VETiS Funding

  • VETiS qualifications can be undertaken in years 10, 11 and 12, and can count towards the Queensland Certificate of Education and ATAR rankings.
  • Students can access one funded qualification while at school.
  • Accessing VETiS funding will not affect a student’s eligibility for future funded programs once they leave school.
  • The cost of VETiS funded qualifications are fee free for students. Students who have already accessed VETiS funding will be advised of any applicable fees prior to enrolling.
  • Delivery modes and timeframes are negotiable and can align with SAS or other school programs.

SBAT

  • Combine paid work, training and school
  • As well as an industry recognised national qualification you will gain credit towards your Queensland Certificate of Education.
  • A Certificate III qualification will ensure an ATAR ranking of 68 (equivalent to OP 15); A Certificate IV will ensure a minimum ATAR rank of 74 (equivalent to OP 12)
  • To qualify you must be employed in an apprenticeship/traineeship role and be signed into a training contract for a qualification funded by the QLD government.

Centrelink support (Australia wide)

Many of the qualifications offered by Adapt Education are Centrelink approved and you may be eligible to receive ongoing study support benefits while you study from home. If you are on a single parent pension, a carers pension, disability pension, NewStart and several others, you may be eligible for the Education Supplement ($62 p/fortnight for full time study for the nominated duration of the course) and/or the Education Entry Payment ($208 one off payment). To find out if you’re eligible for Centrelink payments check their webite or call 13 24 90 and ask about the above payments. For eligible participants to claim the education supplement, simply take a signed copy of your training plan (issued upon enrolment) into centrelink and attach it to the relevant centrelink form.

User Choice Traineeships (QLD)

  • Apprenticeships and Traineeships combine paid work with structured training.
  • You may be a full-time or part-time employee, a new or existing employee.
  • Apprenticeships and traineeships require employers to enter into a training contract with the apprentice or trainee, which is a legally binding agreement to work and train together for a length of time.
  • To be eligible to receive government contributions, the apprentice or trainee must have entered into a qualification that is funded and select a training provider that holds Pre Qualified Supplier (PQS) status.
  • Apprentices or Trainees will pay a set contribution fee towards their training. This rate is set at $1.60 per nominal hour. The employer may choose to pay these on the participant’s behalf. Concessional rates and some exemptions may apply.
  • Employers and the Trainee/Apprentice may be eligible for other incentives (see below)

New apprentices and Trainees (Australia wide)

Employers may be eligible to claim incentive payments of up to $4,000 for employing a full-time trainee.

In addition, Employers may be eligible for financial assistance through:

  • Special incentives for declared drought areas or regional areas
  • Employing mature age Apprentices
  • Employing Apprentices with Disability
  • Employing a School-based Apprentice

Trainees may be eligible for financial assistance through:

  • Support for Adult Australian Apprentices payment initiative
  • Living Away From Home Allowance

Online: Study from home or anywhere in the world! Access to interactive learning materials, video tutorials and online support groups are just a part of Adapt’s holistic on-line training.

Correspondence: receive a portfolio including workbooks, study resources and assessments at the commencement of the course. Correspondence training enables you to study anywhere without having to be connected to the internet all the time.
